Who we are and what we actually do
Lumentvivid is a family-run local business based at Lamu Road, Malindi, operating since 2017. The business offers three core lines: in-person appointments for scheduled services, a curated product range selected for Malindi's coastal lifestyle, and hands-on service work for homes and small businesses within the town and its surrounds. The Ouma family founded Lumentvivid after years of noticing that Malindi's growing resident and visitor population had few genuinely local options — most available businesses were branches of larger Mombasa operations with no real stake in the community. The decision to keep the business small and family-managed was deliberate: it means every customer interacts with someone who has a personal interest in getting the job right. Today the core team has seven members, all based in or near Malindi, and the shopfront on Lamu Road is open six days a week in the bright teal-modern space the family designed and furnished themselves.
How the team works — and where the limits are
The Lumentvivid team works in a flat structure: the founder, his sister and her husband manage operations jointly, with four additional team members handling appointments, products and on-site service. There's no call centre, no outsourced bookings and no automated chat — every message that comes in is read and replied to by a real person within a few hours during business days. The team has completed over 400 service jobs and product consultations since 2017, and the repeat-client rate sits consistently above 60%. That figure is the one the family is most proud of, because it reflects the actual quality of the work rather than marketing spend. Lumentvivid doesn't do everything. Structural building work, electrical installation and large-scale logistics are outside the scope — and the team will say so clearly rather than overpromise. Results in service work depend on the condition of the client's premises and the quality of existing materials, which can't always be assessed until work begins. When that happens, the team stops, communicates and agrees a revised scope before proceeding.
